HEALTH AND SAFETY UPDATE

At Hardeman County Schools, we want to assure families that we are taking all the essential precautions and we have protocols in place to respond to any outbreak of communicable diseases including the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  The Tennessee Department of Health in conjunction with the CDC has been closely monitoring the rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) health issue in our country and worldwide.  Tennessee had its first confirmed case of the coronavirus (COVID-19) as of 3/5/2020 in Williamson County.  The Hardeman County School District is working closely with the Tennessee Department of Health and local health officials in keeping our school population as healthy as possible.  Hardeman County School District values our most important relationship with you, the parents and students.  It is important that we respond to factual information and refrain from allowing social media or fear to drive our reactions.  Our school system will continue to track absenteeism rates daily.  We will keep sanitizing our schools to keep them as clean as possible.  Stopping the spread of the virus through every-day practices is the best way to keep people healthy.   We need your help in reducing the spread of all viral diseases including the coronavirus (COVID-19). This includes preventative actions for students and staff such as staying home when sick; appropriately covering coughs and sneezes, cleaning frequently touched surfaces and washing hands often.  CDC.gov is an excellent resource for information.  In the event of an outbreak, Hardeman County Schools will cooperate fully with the local and state health departments in protecting students and the community from further infections. As additional information emerges, the Hardeman County School district is committed to keeping you updated via the Hardeman County Schools website and or “School Messenger”.
